If there's one thing I've observed about human nature through the pandemic, it's this: stress, anxiety, fear, and depression creep into our lives like a smokey mist under the door. They waft in without invitation, plant themselves on our metaphorical couch, and before we know it, they've become a permanently embedded fixture in our home - mind, body and spirit.
It is so sly a take-over that we don't even know how deeply we've been affected until we wake up one morning and wonder what the point of it all is. We plod through our routines without joy, without purpose. We break into tears at the drop of hat. Rage is a barely suppressed heat that lies just under the surface.
Often it's not until we fully lose it one day, just hang our head and break down, that we realize how significantly our spirit has been infiltrated.
If this sounds like you or someone you love, I invite you to come and see me. I get it. I know where you're coming from.
